The Inland Empire .NET User's Group offers free classes to the community. Membership in the IEDOTNETUG is not required, but space is limited to 25.
The next class will be on Microsoft's ASP.NET MVC Framework. No specific book is required, however, Pro ASP.NET MVC by Steven Sanderson is highly recommended.
The class is a beginner's class scheduled for 10 weeks and will be held at the Colton campus of DeVry University. While this is an introductory class, basic knowledge of HTML and Basic SQL will be helpful. A laptop is good to have in class, but is not required. A computer running Windows with any version of Visual Studio and SQL Express is required to complete the course lessons.
Trial versions of Visual Studio can be found at:
- Visual Studio: http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/en-us/try/default.mspx
- Visual Web Developer: http://www.asp.net/downloads/essential/
The MVC Framework can be downloaded here http://www.asp.net/MVC/.
